Quintessentially Lifestyle Partners with Christie’s to Host an Evening of Art on May 13 2014. An Exciting Panel Discussion and Exclusive Cocktail Preview with Asia’s Leading Art Experts.
On May 13th, in a partnership with Christie’s, Quintessentially Insider will gather Christie’s VIPs, Quintessentially Lifestyle Members, media and art-enthusiasts, for an evening of exciting artistic discourse, followed by an exclusive cocktail preview of Christie’s selling exhibition “Currents: Japanese Contemporary Art”.
The evening will take place at the James Christie Room in Christie’s Hong Kong offices, and feature a panel discussion ‘Unearthing Talent’ moderated by curator David Elliott, and joined by Christie’s Asian Art expert Gen Ogo, Robin Peckham, founder of Saamlung Gallery, and Alan Lo, Co-founder of Duddell’s. The discussion will explore art advocacy in Asia and the role of art as a cultural element in a key financial region. By delving into the valuable role of art and the importance of discovering and promoting new artistic talent, panellists will share their insights on how to find new talent, how technology has influenced the search, ideas on widening exposure for the growing audience, and more.
Following the panel discussion guests will be treated to an exclusive cocktail preview of Christie’s private sale exhibition “Currents: Japanese Contemporary Art”, featuring an eclectic selection of artwork of over 40 pieces. The Preview will showcase artworks from up-and-coming Japanese artists alongside established artists, including Kimiyoshi Mishima, Keisuke Tanaka, Yoshitomo Nara, Izumi Kato, and Korehiko Hino.
