Game of Thrones and actor Dean-Charles Chapman. King Joffrey Baratheon has just been killed. His brother Tommen Baratheon is now the heir to the Iron Throne. The role is played by Dean-Charles Chapman. Who is this handsome young actor?
Dean-Charles Chapman is a British actor. He was born on 7 September 1997.
Chapman was an original member of the London cast of Billy Elliott musical. In fact, he was the Billy for the London production 6th Birthday show and he is the second longest serving cast member.
He played the title role in the CBBC series The Revolting World of Stanley Brown.
He also plays the role of Richard Grey in the TV series The White Queen.
He was cast for the third season of Game of Thrones in the role of Martyn Lannister. Martyn and his brother Willem were squires in the Lannister army, sons of Kevan Lannister, and younger brothers of Ser Lancel Lannister.
Dean-Charles Chapman has returned for Game of Thrones Season 4, but now playing the role of Tommen Baratheon, the younger brother of King Joffrey Lannister. Then, he is the heir to the throne once Joffrey has been poisoned in episode 2.
However, Chapman was really surprised when he discovered that his character was next in line for the Iron Throne. “I was like, Whoa!” he said. “I know it sounds silly, but I hadn’t read the scripts, and I didn’t know what had happened.”
Previously, Tommen Baratheon was portrayed by Callum Wharry (seasons 1 and 2). The change has occurred because they needed an older actor, about 15 years old, and not a little boy.
Since now, Tommen Baratheon is portrayed by an actor with experience, maybe Tommen will play an important role in the next episodes. We’ll see!
