Game of Thrones season 4 episode 2 was Top#1. The episode was written by the own R.R.Martin and was absolutely thrilling and interesting.

The hated king Joffrey is killed, and you know: The King is Dead Long live the King!

Game of Thrones. The King Joffrey

But who will be the new king?

If we follow the logic of monarchical succession, the new king should be his brother Tommen Baratheon. Oficially, Tommen is the third son of Robert Baratheon and Cersei Lannister. But in fact he is, as his siblings Joffrey and Myrcella, the result of the incest of Queen Cersei and her brother Jaime. Of course, in the books by R.R. Martin, Tommen inherits the Iron Throne and promises to Margaery Tyrell after the death of King Joffrey. We’ll see what will happen in episode 3, because Game of Thrones TV series is not following the books in a strict way.

Episode 2 finished with King Joffrey dying, and his mother, the queen Cersei, blaming the deed on Tyrion and Sansa. In the books, this is not very important because later, it’s revealed that the plot was organized by Olenna Redwyne and Petyr Baelish.

Joffrey was poisoned with wine on the first day of the 3rd Century since Aegon’s Landing.

Joffrey Baratheon and Margaery Tyrell

In the books, when Jaime Lannister (his real father) returns to King’s Landing, he makes love to Queen Cersei in front of the corpse. Afterwards, he is buried in the Great Sept of Baelor, and he is not mourned by anyone with the exception of this mother: he deserved his fate!

For example, Arys Oakheart thinks that the only good points of king Joffrey is that he was tall and strong for his age.

Fortunately, his brother Tommen is a lovable child, diametrically opposed to him.

We are waiting impatiently episode 3!
