E-Lites are delighted to announce a partnership with motorbike racer Tim Hastings for the second successive year. The 21-year-old Scot will be racing in the inaugural British Supersport Evo Championship, a new support series for the British Superbike Championship.
The Team E-Lites Kawasaki man raced in Supersport 600 last season, but changes in the support championships have seen the 600 category evolve into the appropriately named Evo league.
Tim Hastings said: “The bike is working really well, and we’ve just had a very successful test in France. I can’t wait to get going in that first race at Brands Hatch and I’m confident I can come out of the season challenging for the title. I’m delighted we’ve got E-Lites on board for a second year and together I believe I can be the 2014 British Supersport Evo Champion.”
Tim excited fans last season with some bold racing and a determined drive, which saw him pick up a win at Thruxton in April, followed by a place on the podium at Donington Park in May. His ability as a rider has not gone unnoticed within the racing circles, with some touting Hastings as a future British Superbike Champion. With several years of racing knowledge already built up at the age of just 21, the young Scot has one of the brightest futures on the grid.
In preparation for the season ahead, Hastings and Team E-Lites Kawasaki were testing in Snetterton, and getting to grips with the new bike, in its new E-Lites decal. The season starts on April 19 at Brands Hatch with Hastings’ first race on Easter Sunday. The main race will be broadcast live on ITV4 and Eurosport.
Trevor Field, Chief Sales And Marketing Officer of E-Lites, said “We are excited for the season ahead and proud to have Tim as part of Team E-Lites. His determination and assertive style of racing is great to see and we’re hopeful of more trophies this year. We’re really thrilled to support somebody of his talent, and someone who “believes he can” go all the way this season.”
