Pruning and Training Fruit Trees:
Learn how to prune fruit trees to improve production and protect tree health. This workshop will also cover the basics of training young fruit trees.

Starting Seeds in a Hoop-house Workday:
Help this community garden set up a small-scale hoop-house, prepare garden beds for planting, and sow cool-weather vegetable crops.

Drew Gardens Community Workdays:
Join Bronx Green-Up, the International Rescue Committee, and Drew Gardens’ community gardeners in getting the garden ready for the spring!

NY Cares Day:
Jackson Forest Community Garden had been closed for garden repairs and will now be reopened to the community. Help us get the garden started again and ready for the season. Please register for this event in case there is a delay in the garden opening.

MillionTreesNYC Giveaway with NYRP, NYC Parks, and PlaNYC:
Bronx Green-Up and River Garden will host this spring’s tree giveaway. Be part of the city’s effort to plant one million trees in NYC. Trees are available for adoption, to be planted on private properties or in your community garden (no parks or other public land). Advanced registration recommended. Native Plant Share and Workshop:
Join Bronx Green-Up/The New York Botanical Garden, Butterfly Project NYC, and GreenThumb/NYC Parks to learn more about the connections between native plants and pollinators and how to encourage them in urban landscapes. This year’s workshop is part of NYC Wildflower Week. Plants will be available for pickup, to be used in schoolyards, community gardens, and other public spaces while supplies last.
