Babiis, the Baby-friendly iPhone and iPad app addresses the online interaction between young kids and their families
SAN FRANCISCO, March 27, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Timothy and Jane, a young couple, have a two-year-old kid, Nicole. Unfortunately, Timothy’s job forces him to travel a lot, and most of the time, he is not at home and with his family during the week.
Jane’s parents live in Europe and can only visit their youngest grandchildren from time to time.
Over the years, Timothy’s brother, Nicole’s uncle, lives in Australia and so far, he has had very few opportunities to interact with his little niece.
Nicole’s family represents a good example of how spread out families are today, preventing their members from living and spending time together.
Babiis, the new social network App for iPad and iPhone has the ambition to bring and keep families together by making the baby the center of attention. Babiis is the first product developed by Famiis Online Apps LTD, an Israeli Startup. The App is launching today, March 27, 2014 at MacWorld/iWorld, San Francisco, California.
Babiis is targeting toddlers from one to four years old, for whom it is essential to stay close with their family members, especially when they are separated.
More often, little kids Nicole’s age show a lot of joy in playing with their parents’ devices. Additionally, like older kids and adults, they could also use devices for interaction.
Toddlers express the need to communicate, learn and play with their family members, but is it possible for them to use the features, which are in general available on today’s most common social networks?
Thanks to Babiis’ unique and specific technology, it will be the case soon. By simply touching a familiar picture, the application enables the toddlers to send video messages, upload them in the cloud and notify their family members, all at the same time.
“So far it was up to the parents, grandparents, and other family members to initiate the interactions with their babies and little kids,” says Benjamin Bellity, founder and CEO. “Now, with Babiis, toddlers can initiate the communication whenever they feel like it. In addition, by just touching dedicated flashing icons, they can also watch personalized video messages, get access to education tools and virtual gifts or games. In the case of the games and stories, parents can – due to a special Babiis feature – record their own voice over the favourite toddlers’ fairy tale or game.”
But the ambition of the founder goes far beyond the information sharing side of this family social network. The young company also intends to revolutionize the way little kids play, learn and interact. Babiis plans to provide the families with a unique place to enjoy and keep great memories by sharing a wide catalog of games and educational tools. Therefore, Babiis will integrate an interaction technology to notify the family members when the toddler initiates a game. The entire family can then play with the kid wherever they might be and while doing so, the kids’ reactions will be automatically recorded, uploaded and stored on the cloud.
“But security and privacy of our kids is critical and therefore, bringing and keeping families together must take place in a strictly controlled environment”, says Bellity.
With Babiis, parents are approving every step of their kids’ way within the family network, from the registration of the participating members, to the games the toddlers play with, to the video messages or stories they access.
“Overall, with Babiis, families will be able to build a virtual safe family home around their children, guiding their first online steps and watch them grow,” concludes Bellity.
Babiis, the family social network, is now available on iPhone and iPad. The App is English only for now, and will be proposed in different languages by May 2014.
