Global flavours with a hint of warmth are all the rage for 2014.

So Olives Et Al, the Dorset-based purveyors of delicious food, are giving people what they want with their latest olive offering – the Smoky Chipotle Olive. This naughty little number is being launched at the end of March 2014 at the Farm Shop & Deli Show – the gourmet equivalent of London Fashion Week.

Chipotle (pronounced she-pot-lay), a smoke-dried jalapeno, is a fiery favourite in Mexico adding a subtle, earthy heat to all sorts of dishes. It’s also perfect paired with a plump juicy olive, of course.

Olives Et Al’s Smoky Chipotle Olives feature whole Amphissa olives, marinated in extra-virgin olive oil naturally infused with chipotle chillis, which offers warmth over heat…more like a hug than a prod with a red-hot poker.

What’s more, once all the chipotle olives have been eaten, the chilli-infused oil can be used to add a mellow, spicy, smoky depth to a host of dishes – it’s perfect for marinating steaks, chicken or seafood, for example.
