Food Delicacies. Iberian Ham (Jamón Ibérico), also called Black Hoof (Pata Negra in Spanish) is a type of cured ham produced mostly in Spain. Iberian ham may be made from black Iberian pigs, or cross-bred pigs as long as they are at least 75% Iberian.

Currently, Iberian Han is starting to be popular in America. No surprise, because it’s so tasteful (above all, accompanied with a cup of wine) that everybody, who eat it once, wants to repeat.

Furthermore, Iberian Ham is extremely healthy because much of the fat is oleic acid, a monounsaturated fatty acid that has been shown to lower LDL cholesterol and raise HDL cholesterol.

Then, include Iberian ham in your diet. It prevents heart attacks.

Remember that Iberian Ham has regular flecks of intramuscular fat due to the pig diet of acorns in the free air. Pigs are never stable.

The finest comes from free-range pigs that roam oak forests along the border between Spain and Portugal, and eat only acorns. Yhr ham is cured for 36 months.

Afterwards, we find a ham from pigs that are pastured and fed a combination of acorns and grain.

The third type, but also very tasteful and healthy comes from pigs that are fed only grain. The ham is cured for 24 months.
