Brits expose brazen bathroom behaviour in cheeky poll from Splashdirect: Splashdirect bathrooms
Bath-loving Brits bring a new meaning to a night on the tiles. A poll of UK homes, led by bath and shower company Splashdirect, reveals the racy role our bathrooms play in our romantic relationships:
• Half of Brits have indulged in frisky bathroom behaviour at home
• Almost 40% have had a steamy session in a hotel bathroom
• One in ten have snuck off to a friend’s bathroom at a party for a bit of passion
Splashdirect, the online bathroom specialists, have also identified the popularity of ‘sharing baths’ (ie freestanding baths without taps): with 68% of us saying that a freestanding bath is more romantic to share and the majority of the UK preferring a bath, over a shower or wet room, when it comes to romance:
• 53% find the bath more romantic
• 15% chose the shower
• Only 13% prefer the modern wet room
The bath/shower room has a role to play in workplace romances and naughtiness:
1 in 20 Brits admit to having a steamy session in the shower or bathroom at work. However, the mile high club has failed to take off recently, with just 2% of the UK ticking that box. However, hotel bathrooms are a firm favourite, with almost 40% (39%) of Brits admit to having had a steamy session in a hotel bathroom or shower room.
Splashdirect founder Ted Charalambides commented:
“Sharing a shower or bath is not just a great water-saver, we have discovered that Brits find it very romantic too.”
“Freestanding baths are a stylish addition to any bathroom and also hold popularity in larger bedrooms too.”
“Many of our freestanding baths are great for sharing as are our walk-in showers. After completing this research we have even added the keywords ‘sharing baths’ and ‘sharing showers’ to our website to reflect the popularity of steamy bathroom romance.”
Our research also discovered that 30% of Brits would use a loo next to another person using a loo! With the recent photos of the Winter Olympics we just had to include this.
