Fine Art Asia Announce New Beijing Edition

Breaking news. Fine Art Asia Announce New Beijing Edition. 28 May – 1 June 2014.

As Fine Art Asia celebrates its landmark 10th edition, this year’s breaking news is the launch of a new event: Guardian Fine Art Asia (GFAA), the Beijing edition of the fair, which will take place from 28 May to 1 June 2014. This long-anticipated development is the result of a fruitful collaboration between Guardian Beijing, a well-established art organisation in China, and Fine Art Asia.

Guardian Fine Art Asia, held in association with the world-renowned China Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), is certain to command international interest from across the art market. The fair will be organised by the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC and the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, and supported by The World Trade Organisation. CIFTIS, a highly comprehensive international event, will serve as a platform for overseas art and antiques dealers to showcase their art pieces to over 100,000 visitors, including the most prestigious groups from Beijing and key leaders in a wide range of professional fields from cities all over China.

For its debut in China, GFAA will host world-renowned galleries in CIFTIS and feature museum-quality pieces from both China and the West. On display will be some exquisite collections, ranging from both Asian and European antiquities, international fine art jewellery and timepieces, antique silver, European design and decorative arts, and 20th century Chinese ink paintings.

Calvin said “It is our honour to co-present GFAA (Guardian Fine Art Asia), an expansion of Fine Art Asia with excellent support from art experts and professionals in Beijing. Deemed as the leading international fine art platform in Asia, our mission is to bring venerated Western fine art pieces and aesthetics to Chinese audiences through a five day exhibition and accompanying academic programme. I am very much looking forward to launching the show in late May.”

Fair Organiser:
Art & Antique International Fair Ltd (AAIF) was founded in 2006 by well-known antique Chinese furniture dealer Andy Hei to provide a vibrant new platform in Hong Kong for the art world in Asia and worldwide. The company is the pioneer of art fairs in Hong Kong: its inaugural fair in 2006 was the first international art fair in Hong Kong in more than a decade.
In 2010, Fine Art Asia was recognised as Hong Kong’s first globally acclaimed non-corporate art enterprise brand, featuring internationally renowned fine art and jewellery exhibitors as well as attracting the world’s foremost collectors. In 2011, Asian contemporary art collector and promoter Calvin Hui joined Fine Art Asia as Co-Chairman and Director, sharing his knowledge of the Asian art market and his public relations network to enhance and continue the expansion of the fair.
Fine Art Asia 2014 is the 10th edition of the fair which has now become a key annual fixture in the international art calendar. Cathay Pacific Airways and Grand Hyatt Hong Kong will again be the official carrier and official hotel partner of Fine Art Asia 2014, respectively, offering preferential rates and benefits for both art lovers and dealers during the fair.
