Jesús Moroles. New Works. Sculptures in Granite. February 22 – May 10, 2014. Artist Reception: Saturday, February 22, 2014. 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
PDNB Gallery presents its second exhibition of sculptures by Jesús Moroles. Moroles, Texas native and University of North Texas graduate, is internationally renowned with sculpture installations all over the world, including many in Dallas.
The show will include new works such as the spiral and a turning bench pictured in the photograph above. Moroles prefers to work with granite for its rich color and mineral deposits. He loves to show the natural, unfinished qualities of the stone as well as the fine glimmering character of a smooth, buffed finish.
Recently Moroles completed a commission at Hall Winery in St. Helena, California (see photo). Kathryn Walt Hall, the United States Ambassador to Austria under Bill Clinton, is the proprietor of the Vineyard, along with her husband, Craig Hall, founder of Hall Financial Group in Dallas. Craig is an art collector and created the Texas Sculpture Garden featuring 40 living Texas artists, including Jesús Moroles.
PDNB Gallery is excited to show sculpture again in the gallery, a change from exhibiting photo-based works. Moroles transforms the gallery into a 3-dimensional wonderland.
Jesús will be present at the opening reception, Saturday, February 22, 2014.
