Hell on Wheels season 4 is shooting and everybody is excited about the 13 new episodes of AMC.
No doubt, Hell on Wheels is one of the TV series more expected of the year… but why?
Which are the secrets to this success? Of course, one of them is the main character. Cullen Bohannon (actor Anson Mount), the hero of the heroes who everybody would like to meet.
Cullen Bohannon personality joins several attractive traits.
To start, he is a new Count of Monte Cristo. Remember that his family (wife and son) were cruelly killed during American Civil War and his plantation completely destroyed. However, even humiliated, this former Confederate Soldier stands up and looks for revenge. Following his old ideas of honor, he finds the future: the new railroad that The Pacific Union is constructing from east to west of USA.
Cullen Bohannon had been a slave holder. He had went to the University and lived as an aristocrat. But now, he starts to work at Hell on Wheels, the insidious town which moves with the railroad. It’s an initiatory path.
Sometimes, he is a Quixote looking for his own Dulcinea in a world where there aren’t many heroines. Pretty and brave Lilly Bell could have been a perfect couple but Hell on Wheels corrupts everybody and she sells her aim to Durant, the ugly owner of The Pacific Union. Her death was sad and of course, Bohannon replaces Durant in the last moments to make goodbye easier.
Because Bohannon is a new John Wayne, free and brave, always in a border. Because he is the man who overcomes his fear and can forge a new destiny.
In 2014, in a world in crisis, we expect to Bohannon to feel our own force.
The hero of heroes.
