Chartres Zodiac

Between 25,000 and 10,000 years BP, they found mammoth notches representing the phases of the moon.

In 6000 BP Sumerians start sky observations.

Astrology is a system of studies based on the idea that there is a relation between astronomical phenomena and the personality of a person, also with the events of a life. Many cultures have believed in the importance of astrology (Persia, India, China, Maya) and they have developed different systems for predicting earthly events based on celestial observations.

Medieval zodiac

In the West, the most universally used system is the horoscope. It predicts aspects of the personality of the people, and future events based on the position of the sun, moon and other stars at the time of birth.

In Mesopotamia, a form of astrology was practiced 2,000 years BP. When Alexander the Great conquered Asia, this astrology was learnt by ancient Greeks and Romans (it was called Chaldean horoscope).

After the fall of the Roman Empire, the Chaldean astrology was practiced by the Arabs and through Spain, it was reintroduced in Europe. Tycho Brahe, Johannes Kepler and Galileo worked as court astrologers. Thus, astronomy and astrology marched together.

At the end of the seventeenth century, with the rise of the new physics and astronomy, scientifics began to question the astrology. The gap continues today.

In our Western astrology (Babylon and Greece), the zodiac is based on the division into twelve equal parts of the celestial band, because the sun, moon and planets, move a section every month of the year.

Each section contains the traditional constellation of its name: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces.

A natal chart is a conventional map of the universe with the person to be studied at the center. It is calculated for the exact time and location of the person birth.

The chart shows the positions of the sun, moon, planets, and other celestial objects within the frames of references defined by the twelve houses: hose of love, of family, financial house…

Also, it’s very important to calculate the ascendant. For example, if you are Aries but your ascendant is Gemini, you will behave as an Aries but you should work to behave as a Gemini person. Thus, you will complete your personality.

Have a nice day, Yareah friends.
