Philip Seymour Hoffman died yesterday at 46. Here, our Tribute to his Memory. Rest in Peace, Philip Seymour Hoffman. His Ten Best Quotes

Burdens. When you’re playing someone who really lived, you carry a burden, a burden to be accurate. But it’s one that you have to let go of ultimately.

About insecurities. I had insecurities and fears like everybody does, and I got over it. But I was interested in the parts of me that struggled with those things.

Sharing. The only true currency in this bankrupt world is what you share with someone else when you’re uncool.

About writers. Yeah, writers do hate writing.

About his career. I didn’t have any idea that I would be able to have a career in film.

Don’t repeat yourself. I don’t want to repeat myself.

I got sober when I was 22 years old.

About good work. Good work is the only thing that would make me feel jealous or envious.

Creation. Creating something is all about problem-solving.

Music. I like so many different kinds of music just because all I did was listen to the radio as a kid.

Rest in Peace, Philip Seymour Hoffman

  • oh, what can i say – what can any of us say – such a tragic loss – one of those rare actors with whom i related on such a deep level – his characterizations in films were literally beyond the scope of acting – it was as if he had channeled the character – his movie CAPOTE is a prime example of that channeling – his portrayal [and i use that term “portrayal” loosely as he didn’t portray capote – he BECAME capote] of capote was breathtaking – mesmerizing – magnificent! his role of rusty in “flawless” where he played opposite de niro was in and of itself, flawless – he brought such truth and beauty to the screen – his magnificent spirit will be more than missed…

many thanks for a lovely tribute…
