The MBA that trains executives to deal with cyber-warfare
A new Business and Cyber Robustness module launched by Nyenrode Business Universiteit in the Netherlands is set to address an acute lack of understanding of the dangers of cybercrime.
Following a successful cybersecurity masterclass in the summer, Jan Veldsink a cybersecurity expert developed the module as part of the school’s Executive MBA in Business and IT.
The module addresses three important matters:
1. How should businesses and managers tackle cyber-crime?
2. How does your business become Cyber Robust?
3. How to protect company sensitive information from becoming public.
Jan says: “I believe the word cybersecurity provides a false impression. It promotes the suggestion that if you pump enough money into firewalls and good ICT systems, you’ll be safe. That’s not the case. Dealing with cybercrime is not just a problem for the IT department. You have to train every part of your organization. Cyber-crime is a fast-growing problem for businesses around the globe and as the CEO and CIO of an organisation you are increasingly faced with strategic cybersecurity issues. Simply leaving them to be dealt with by the IT department could have far-reaching consequences for businesses.”
