Floral Fictions: Recent Work by Jessica Calderwood. January 31 – April 19, 2014 at The Society of Arts and Crafts in Boston.
Reception: Friday, January 31st, 6 – 8pm.
For the past decade Calderwood has developed a unique body of work largely through enameling, an ancient process of fusing glass to metal. Floral Fictions, presents recent sculpture and jewelry that combine flower and botanical forms with fragments of the human body to address the narrative of human life cycles: change, growth, aging, and death.
Her beautiful and exquisitely crafted objects offer humorous and sometimes ironic insight into what it means to be alive. The exhibition will also include sketches and collages that provide a glimpse into the artist’s working process.
If you have the chance, don’t miss this amazing event, Yareah friends. Art is everywhere and up to you!
