Your face may change

as long

as your eyes

remain the same.

And on this morning

of this New Year’s Day

let them arrest me

and hold me close

like laughter shimmering

on a rainbow

to the Valley of Tears.

The Walls

of all that happens.

Even the darkness cannot blind them.

Not so silent, after all.

Why else do all houses

inevitably have seepage problems?

The very mortar is dissolving in tears.
