2014 is The Year of the Horse in the Chinese calendar. A Good Year plenty of Happiness. Congratulations to people born soon and to their families.

Ceramic Horse. Han Dynasty

On Friday, January 31, 2014 starts the Chinese New Year and. it marks the beginning of the Year of the Horse in the Chinese zodiac.

The Chinese calendar is based on astronomical observations of the Sun longitude and the Moon phases. In fact, it’s a lunisolar calendar and predates our Gregorian calendar. It can be traced back to the Han Dynasty (206 BCE – 220 CE).

The Chinese zodiac cycle lasts 12 years. Every year is represented by an animal associated with five elemental signs (Wood; Earth; Fire; Water; and Metal):

Zi (rat); Chou (ox); Yin (tiger); Mao (rabbit); Chen (dragon); Si (snake); Wu (horse); Wei (sheep); Shen (monkey); You (rooster); Xu (dog); and Hai (boar/pig).

The year 2014 is the Year of the Wood Horse and it is supposed that those born under this sign are going to have a good year, with great luck and opportunities ahead.

As you know, horses dislike to be restrained. Then, people under the Wood Horse influence tend to be impatient and love freedom. Also, they are hard-working, clever, glamorous and talented.

Celebs born in the Year of the Wood Horse

Genghis Khan, Newton, Rembrandt, Chopin, Davy Crockett, Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin, Teddy Roosevelt, Barbara Streisand, Cindy Crawford, Harrison Ford, Jason Biggs, Jackie Chan, John Travolta, Leonard Bernstein, Paul McCartney, Ashton Kutcher, Emma Watson, Josh Hartnett, Katie Holmes, Kristen Stewart, and Kobe Bryant.

As you can see, arts and sports are good for them and usually, they move in glamorous circles while pursuing high profile careers. This year, they will have great artistic projects and possible happy adventures. New friends will give them great opportunities and their mood will be optimistic.

However, when managing money matters, they should consider accepting other people suggestions. Especially this year, they must be careful to make any investment, because the market will be changeable during 2014.

Enjoy your day, Yareah friends. Art is everywhere and up to you.

Happy holidays and New Year.

The people listed aren’t all born in the year of the wood horse, just all born in the year of the horse with different elements from each other. Just wanted to clarify that.
