200 PILLOWS FOR THE WALL.
Osage Gallery is now calling for donations of used pillows, with or without pillow cases, for the artwork The Wall by Ringo Bunoan, as part of the exhibition POETICS OF MATERIALITY, at Osage Hong Kong 4 Jan – 4 Feb 2014.
To the Filipino artist, pillows catch what leaks from our minds, via our mouths and eyes as we sleep. They are the sites of physical rest and rejuvenation, as well as cradles of our ideas, memories, nightmares and dreams.
Each individual pillow serves as a personal archive of accumulation of sleep, or subconscious saliva; The Wall thus produced functions as a group portrait of all these interior substances.
We aim at collecting 200 pillows to create a monument of 10 m wide. To be part of this ambitious project, please drop by our new space Osage Hong Kong with your old dream mate within the gallery opening hour. Every donation will be duly acknowledged!
If you have over ten to give away, you may just give us a call for arranging pick-up at one location within Hong Kong.
