New York events. Innovative films made in the past 12 months. The Contenders 2013. Through January 16, 2014 at MoMA. If you have the chance, don’t miss this event. It’s worth!
For this recurring series, the Department of Film combs through major studio releases and the top film festivals in the world, selecting influential, innovative films made in the past 12 months that we believe will stand the test of time. On November 25, Denis Villeneuve’s Prisoners is followed by a discussion with Villeneuve, Jake Gyllenhaal, Melissa Leo, and screenwriter Aaron Guzikowski; on November 26, Zachary Heinzerling’s Cutie and the Boxer is followed by a discussion with the director; on December 3, Ryan Coogler’s Fruitvale Station is followed by a discussion with Forest Whitaker; and on December 5, Alexander Payne’s Nebraska is followed by a discussion with Bruce Dern.
Enjoy your day, Yareah friends. Art is everywhere and up to you!
