Utopia Ltd: RECONSTRUCTIONS BY HENRY MILNER. GRAD: Gallery for Russian Arts and Design. Until 20 December 2013.

Special Event: AN EVENING DEDICATED TO EL LISSITZKY. Thursday 21 November 2013, 6.30pm – 8.30pm

As part of Russian Art Week in London (22 – 29 November 2013) GRAD: Gallery for Russian Arts and Design are pleased to invite you to the exhibition Utopia Ltd: Reconstructions by Henry Milner, which runs until 20 December 2013.
Utopia Ltd is an exhibition of striking Soviet avant-garde artwork reconstructed for a contemporary audience. Taking the blueprints for change laid down by the radical Constructivist group, it reimagines them in three dimensions. Model maker Henry Milner has created striking sculptures inspired by the geometric experiments of Soviet artists El Lissitzky and Aleksandr Rodchenko, and brings to life designs by Vladimir Tatlin and the pioneering graphic artist from Latvia, Gustavs Klucis.
In conjunction with the exhibition, GRAD Publishing has launched its latest title Re-Constructivism, which is on sale at the gallery.
Also available in the GRAD shop are beautiful, limited edition miniatures of Henry Milner’s reconstructions of Aleksandr Rodchenko’s Spatial Contructions.

6.30pm – 8.30pm.

3-4a Little Portland Street, London, W1W 7JB

The talk will be accompanied by a screening of El Lissitzky: A Film of the Life (Russian with English subtitles, 40′), by kind permission of the M.T. Abraham Foundation.About Gabor Stark
