The Norman Firehouse Art Center’s annual fundraiser, “The Chocolate Festival,” will take place Saturday, February 1, 2014. Local chefs, restaurateurs and chocolate artists are invited to join in celebrating the tradition of sampling decadent chocolate treats in honor of supporting arts education for the children of Norman. Participants will support the Firehouse art education programs while marketing their business to a large and appreciative crowd from the community. This event has a well-deserved reputation as the “Chocolate event of the year” and has a spacious and enjoyable location at the National Center for Employee Development (NCED). It was voted “Best Local Festival” in the 2011 Reader’s Choice Awards; “Best Charity Event” in 2011 from Oklahoma Magazine; has been featured in Southern Living magazine; and won the 2009 Frontier Country Grand Award for Outstanding Food Festival in Central Oklahoma. It has been ranked 3rd among food festivals in the U.S. by the Food Network and was featured on their festival show.
As the only fundraising event for the Firehouse Art Center, all proceeds from ticket sales support the children’s art education programs and art exhibitions.
