Fall 2013. New lip colors, eyeshadow pigments and makeup tendencies. Read Beauty Yunkees recommendations, Yareah friends.
Fall finds us making transitions in almost many aspects of our lives. Tank tops and shorts are replaced with jeans and sweaters, winter coats start again making their regular appearances, and furnaces are stretching their legs for the first time in months with the increased amount of time spent indoors. Additionally, as any beauty junkee could attest, our makeup toolkit makes a seasonal change as well. Moisturizers become more heavyweight and trends and new color palettes are introduced. This fall season 2013 is no different. With a few common denominators, the most popular beauty brands are showcasing all sorts of fall goodies.
The first trend to note is the new lip colors that are emerging. The fall lip is deep, bold, and calls for attention. Dark berries are making a comeback, with wine stains and plum hues right by their side in new product lines. Those who don’t wish to make such a dramatic lip statement can opt for a rose blush hue or a simple shimmery gloss.
The next trend that sees new seasonal favorites is that of eyeshadow pigments. True to pigment shadows are making strides to make makeup application almost effortless. Shadows that are being featured by popular brands are showing some of the usual suspects and some new additions too. Fall colors are always en vogue and this season are appearing with deep variants and some with a hint of shimmer. Deep emeralds and plums are the choices for the bold at heart, while those desiring “quieter” makeup looks have several beautiful pastels to choose from.
Of up and coming popularity are eyelash extensions. Rather than false eyelashes being applied daily, cosmetologists use a medical grade glue to apply anywhere from an additional 100-150 lashes to each eye on average. These lashes last several weeks and have a much more natural look to them over their previously popular predecessors.
Fall is also showing the re-emergence of popularity of some popular beauty tools. Cosmetic blending sponges are being produced that are higher quality than ever before. They are also appearing in different shapes for a variety of makeup purposes and to use with a variety of different makeup products. More women are switching to higher quality brushes as well. A favorite to have for the colder months is the flat foundation brush, which provides a heavy coverage to any sort of foundation it is used with, whether that be mineral, powder, cream, liquid, or mousse.
