Some fans of the famous book prefer Ian Somerhalder, some others Henry Cavill. Here, some quotes to know about their different personalities:

As an outside; don’t worry about failure, because failure will take care of itself. Focus on success. Henry Cavill.

Love is tested in so many ways. How do I articulate this? Two people are together. There are stakes, strife, struggles, all these things that make us fall for someone, love someone even more, leave someone. Ian Somerhalder.

At boarding school there wasn’t much time for much of anything except education. HC.

Maybe one of the only things I do well: I cook like a maniac! I would be a chef if I weren’t an actor. IS.

Some people thrive under pressure, but pressure can also ruin your performance, it can push you down angles which you don’t want to go. HC.

. I think I am a cosmopolitan person and in fact, I feel the whole world as my town. The same as I have many homelands, I have had many jobs. I worked as a seamstress in my youth and so I became interested in handmade carpets. I have a loom in my house and a craft shop. I have published several craft books for children.

I think either one would be good, they were my first and second choices from the beginning, I’m just glad the other guy backed out, he was not a good choice!!

  • Kimberly

Yes my choice is Henry Cavill. Do I think it will happen? No, only because he has now made a name for himself with Man Of Steel. However, he is the perfect choice. He fits the description to a tee and for those of you who have seen him act, he also has the facial expressions right down.

NO ONE compares to Henry for this role! He owns the battlefield when it comes to his “Let me help you take off your thong NOW” voice. He’s beyond super HOT! He’s breath taking & perfectly sexy as Christian Grey. Cavill is the TOTAL PACKAGE with his sparkling eyes, gorgeous hair, & his insanely kissable lips. Women are mesmerized by him because he has the ability to be a freak in the sheets. I don’t know any woman who dislikes him. He has the charisma because of so many reasons. It’s amazing how he appears to just effortlessly wear sexy clothes. He’s also got that Brando endangering way about him! I love the enticing confidence he exudes. His remarkable stature is mind-blowing. I’m speechless most of the time as I watch the emotive ways he moves his arms, shoulders, head, legs, feet, fingers, hands, pelvis, hips, chest–every joint in his body is mind-altering & flawless!

His overwhelming performance in The Tudor’s shows his immense & expert range of skills in that his facial expressions are TOTALLY Christian Grey. I’m referencing the stern eyebrow, the captivating grin, the body language which is superb with his swagger, the exasperation is so divine in the tremor of his lips, the pain in his entire face & how stiff his body becomes with agony when he has to witness his lover marrying that grotesque, emotionally, & physically disgusting guy in The Tudors. So many scenes of his are amazingly riveting. The way Cavill breathes & how he stands exude complete mastery of Christian Grey.

Cavill has the drama of Sir Laurence Olivier, the magnetic voice like Richard Burton, & the deliciousness of his own lovely appearance. Cavill has also mastered the phantasmagoric power like a ninja in one of Eric Van Lustbader’s novels. Cavill is as talented as many other authors because he, too, can blend a number of known themes together: crime, suspense, lust, martial arts, & mysticism. It’s absolutely entrancing to watch Cavill erotically get under one’s skin like he does. As one in Cavill’s audience, I really get excited living the voyeur life of watching him hypnotize another woman into his rapturous life of eroticism. Cavill’s romantic skills seem unequalled. His every nuance is epic; captures all senses a woman finds enthralling in a man.

His eyes show his fear, his pleasure, his repulsion. He can control his eye blinks as he shows shock, seduction, anger, disgust, happiness, joy, and/or sorrow. He controls his mouth with his twitching gestures, his snide, biting remarks are a sight to remember as he then quickly becomes the frenemy, & goes on to display his naturally upturned grin. Even his frown is beautiful when his eyes show annoyance. The immense repertoire this man possesses is also seen in the way he manipulates his eyebrows or grinds his jaw when he is exasperated, or shows worried brows by pulling them together in displaced exclamation points when he’s angry. His rage is spine tingling as his nostrils momentarily flare!

I want to hug him because of the way he wrinkles his forehead when he’s intensely angry, or sad, or contemplative, or how he opens his eyes wide in disbelief of what has happened, or he’s bored, or he is concentrating on something he must do or say or want. He has no problem showing the secrets of his soul. Cavill innately knows that love has its own body language & therefore is highly capable of dealing with the confusion as seen in his facial expressions when the script calls for that new dimension. He knows contempt, excitement, flirtatious, seductive, glares, frustration, snarls, what’s gross, what’s surprising, what’s lust worthy–how to win a woman under any circumstances. These are just some of the reasons the role of Christian Grey belongs to the one-and-only, Henry Cavill! In reality, the character we think we know as Christian Grey might actually & absolutely be the character we know as Cavill.

Henry is not going to take this role. Pointless even speculating about him.

  • Bookenz

It’s an irrelevant argument. Henry won’t do it, even if offered the role. I’m sure he’s turned it down already. Ian is too short, especially now that they’ve cast Dakota Johnson–they’re both the same height in fact.

  • Netherman14

FUCK NO! Filthy Shades of Gray is a fucking awful and shitty book that misrepresents the BDSM community! and this film is not going to ruin Henry’s career!

  • Laura

I agree with Smith and Netherman14. Henry Cavill is way to good of an actor to do such a role. I for one would not want to see his career ruined, let alone playing in a trashing movie. I am glad he is not going to consider doing this. I wish people would get that notion out of their head about Henry and quit fantasizing about him doing this disgusting role. This book seems so demeaning. This role could ruin any actor’s career. All these actors being considered for this has the right idea to stay clear from that.

  • Shalini Ashley Salvatore

Ian Somerhalder would be the perfect multi-millionaire Christian Grey in my opinion.
