New York exhibits. Dante Ferretti at MoMA: Design and Construction for the Cinema. Through Feb 9. If you have the chance, don’t miss this event!
Go behind the scenes of production designer Dante Ferretti’s major feature films, operas, and more in this unique exhibition. You’ll walk through a 12-screen moving image labyrinth, projecting key moments in the history of Ferretti’s work, including Fellini’s City of Women (1980), Terry Gilliam’s The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1988), and Elio Petri’s Todo Modo (1976), and encounter large-scale, original design pieces recovered from Ferretti sets, like the massive, illuminated station clock for Hugo (2011), along with sketches, drawings, and models that bring his work to life.
