Documentaries. Johannes Sebastian Bach music is filling Madrid with sacred beauty. Last September 17 2013, 8,30 pm, was the pre-release of the awaited documentary ‘Bach en Madrid’ (Bach in Madrid) by the Spanish film director Jose del Rio. Thrilling!
Musicians, singers and the complete cast of the documentary ‘Bach en Madrid’ met again in the city center of the Spanish capital to see the film with its director, Jose del Rio, the Management & Artistic Director of the Royal Chapel in Madrid (La Capilla Real de Madrid), Oscar Gershenson, as well as with hippocampus director Alberto Martinez Molina, and all of the members of Tirabeque Productions and most of the 600 musicians and singers who have made possible this incredible project, which started in 2004: to play Johann Sebastian Bach sacred music (cantatas, passions, Christmas oratorio, Magnificat and masses) under similar circumstances and atmosphere to those lived by the German master.
Baroque instruments, old churches, a classic soul, the best worldwide musicians and singers, and the successful audience in Madrid… eternal city!
Spanish film director Jose del Rio was interested in this great musical adventure and he has been following the different concerts of The Royal Chapel for more than two years. The result has been this epic documentary telling the whole problems and achievements of a dream, which seemed impossible of finishing.
A private screening of the documentary ‘Bach en Madrid’ in El Circulo de Bellas Artes (Calle Alcalá, 42 28014 Madrid) that soon, it will be official. The première will be next month!
