Chicago Exhibits: Bridgeport Art Center Welcomes Expo Chicago
Bridgeport Art Center (BAC) is opening two amazing sculpture shows to coincide with Expo Chicago weekend Friday, September 20th, 6PM-10PM. Both exhibits, one in BAC’s new sculpture garden and the other in its 4th floor gallery, will feature the works of Chicago Sculpture International (CSI) artists.The indoor exhibit will showcase a wide array of sculpture including steel, wood, glass, paper, fiber and video.
A two column bronze and rosa aurora marble sculpture, Sequence (1984), designed by internationally acclaimed sculptor Virginio Ferrari, serves as the commanding entrance to the sculpture garden from BAC’s southwest entrance event space. The sculpture garden exhibit was curated by Terry Karpowicz, a prominent Chicago sculptor and curator.
Adjacent to the fourth floor gallery and on the lower level, third and forth floors are individual work spaces of over 50 residential artists as well as BAC’s new Fashion Design Center on the fifth floor. Visitors can meet the artists and see many of them at work.
