Warner Brothers studio has just announced: American actor Ben Affleck will play Batman in the sequel of Man of Steel alongside Henry Cavill as Superman. Latest news.Batman logo
It has been a surprise since in the past, Ben Affleck referred to his role in Daredevil (2003) in quite negative terms: “I have inoculated myself from ever playing another superhero… Wearing a superhero costume was a source of humiliation.”
Anyway, we hope Ben Affleck follows the success that Christian Bale had between 2005 and 2012 playing this role in the blockbuster franchise The Dark Knight.
Before Ben Affleck and Christian Bale, other great actors like George Clooney, Val Kilmer or Michael Keaton played the role of Batman in different movies and with different success. Famous was the failure of George Clooney in spite of his impeccable career.
Although we don’t know still the title of the movie, we know that it will be released on July 17, 2015 and that Zack Snyder will be the director in charge of reintroducing Superman (this time, alongside Batman) on the big screen.
In fact, Zack Snyder has said of Affleck: “He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retains the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne.” And Warner Bros. president Greg Silverman has added: “We knew we needed an extraordinary actor to take on one of DC Comics’ most enduringly popular Super Heroes, and Ben Affleck certainly fits that bill, and then some.”
Remember that Man of Steel has grossed $650 million worldwide and then, it has been one of the most important movies of these years.
The sequel to Man of Steel again feature well-known actors who participated in the first installment as Amy Adams, Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne.
What do you think? Everybody is excited with this great news.
Have a nice day, Yareah friends. Art is everywhere!
