In the origin, Feng Shui was a Chinese system of geomancy. It tried to improve life using appropriately the primitive forces of Mother Nature: water, earth, air and fire.

Then, Feng Shui put people in a respectful place in front of Nature. This respect is enough to improve your life, because it changes your mentality and you begin a different relation with the environment, including society.

This is the basic idea. Really important because the practice has different tendencies… the system came from Jin dynasty: 4th century. “The Book of Burial” spoke about how orientated tombs and other religious building. Later, they followed these principles with decoration and furniture. The idea is that you feel comfortable in whatever place and of course, at home.

Tendencies: they can study how place things or bodies in reference to points of water or according to the stars or the cardinal points. For example: it’s important to sleep with your head orientated to North, you relax better. Also, every material of your home represents an element: it’s good to combine them, Better luck and aesthetic.

Feng Shui has statistical studies, for instance in shops. They check where people go and which places are not visited because the decoration is aggressive, with a sharp corner or some object which seems a spear pointing at us. You change the decoration and buyers started to feel comfortable in the place.

Advises: Order, the disorder disturb and it’s important relaxing.

Not accumulate things or unnecessary objects. They paralyze our energy fixing us to the past, to our memories. Memories are good to learn of our experiences, but the goal is the future.

Ventilate: air is one of the fourth elements of nature.

Plants, flowers or a fishbowl are positive and beautiful things.

Mixed glass, wood and metal: monotony is boring.

And above all, clean the mirrors, because they reflected clean or dirty energies.
