Simon Cowell is very well known in the United Kingdom and United States for his role as a talent judge on The X Factor. But what else do we know about him? They say he is one of the most influential people in the world.
He was born in Lambeth, London, on 7 October 1959. He is an English A&R executive and TV producer. In fact, Simon Cowell is the owner of the television production and music publishing house Syco.
Above all, he has been the presenter of several TV shows as Pop Idol, Britain’s Got Talent, American Idol and of course, The X factor, where he has shown a controversial criticism, even insulting contestants and their abilities. However, in spite of all these bad manners, Simon Cowell has promoted singles and records for very many current top artists and TV personalities. He was most recently featured on the sixth series of Britain’s Got Talent and the second season of The X Factor USA and his shows and programs are always a great success.
In 2010, magazine Time named Simon Cowell one of the 100 most influential people in the world and this same year, New Statesman listed Cowell at number 41 in a list of The World’s 50 Most Influential Figures 2010. Good for him! However, now, his bad manners have started to be hated and recently, TV Guide named him #10 in their 2013 list of The 60 Nastiest Villains of All Time. Too much! Because in spite of all his jokes, he has helped artists and then, he deserves some consideration.
If he was a quiet person, his TV shows wouldn’t have such a great audience. Simon Cowell is just entertaining because in the end, he is a great actor!
**Simon Cowell is involved in charity organizations. He supports children from The Association of Children’s Hospices. He also supports animal rights and has even appeared in a video for PETA and he helped the production of the charity single Everybody Hurts in aid of victims of the 2010 Haiti earthquake.
Definitely, his role as villain it that, a simple role. Great actor!
