British filmmaker Ridley Scott has chosen the area of Almeria to shoot his next film, Exodus, an epic movie of 20th Century Fox about the life of Moses. He will begin filming in the fall.
The Deputy of Culture of Almeria in Spain, Maria Vazquez, has just confirmed it and she has explained that the director made a helicopter tour in May to choose locations.
Places like Sierra Alhamilla, Tabernas desert or Viator town are some of the locations chosen by Ridley Scott: about 60 percent of the footage.
20th Century Fox has not yet confirmed the main cast, negotiations are taking place in Madrid. But Vazquez has said that they are looking in Almeria for extras and people to work on the sets.
Don’t forget that a lot of Westerns have been shot in Almeria thanks to its characteristic landscape. In fact, they speak about Mini-Hollywood.

“I am the LORD, and I will free you from the burdens of the Egyptians and deliver you from slavery to them.”
“Then the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, so that the water may come back upon the Egyptians, upon their c hariots and chariot drivers.” So Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and at dawn the sea returned to its normal depth. As the Egyptians fled before it, the LORD tossed the Egyptians into the sea.” (Exodus).
Have a nice day, Yareah Magazine friends! Art is everywhere!
