Queen Guitarist Brian May Against The Badger Cull. The guitarist star of Queen has started a campaign to protect badgers. The campaign has a lot of followers on internet and in London streets.
More than 258,700 people sign a petition to end the badger cull, which Bryan May, the guitarist of Queen, calls “ethically bankrupt”. It has become the most signed e-petition on the British Government’s website.
The the e-petition started in August 2012 and will be open until September 7. It is still gathering signatures.
British Government has said the badger cull is necessary to prevent the spread of bovine tuberculosis (TB) by badgers.
But the e-petition argues in favor of humane solution. For example, a vaccination program for badgers and cattle.
Brian May delivered personally his petition to Downing Street on June 1, following a great march through London by thousands of people opposing the cull.
“Only then can we start working together to find a real solution to Bovine TB that will work for farmers, cattle and wildlife alike.”
