Angelina Jolie or Elizabeth Taylor? Who is the best Cleopatra? Because a new movie about Cleopatra VII of Egypt is going to be film right now.

Starring by Elizabeth Taylor, Cleopatra by Joseph L. Mankiewicz is a 1963 British-American-Swiss epic movie, also romantic and something dramatic. The screenplay was adapted by Sidney Buchman, Ben Hecht, Ranald MacDougall, and Mankiewicz from a book by Carlo Maria Franzero which tells the fights of the queen Cleopatra VII of Egypt to face the ambitions of Rome. Cast included Richard Burton, Rex Harrison, Roddy McDowall, and Martin Landau. The music score was by Alex North and was photographed in 70 mm Todd-AO by Leon Shamroy and an uncredited Jack Hildyard. A blockbuster! It cost $44 million and won four Academy awards.

Elizabeth Taylor is (as always) incredible beautiful wearing those luxurious exotic dresses and although she played coldly, she still convinces.

Our next Cleopatra VII is going to be played by Angelina Jolie, who has already played a similar role as Olympia, the mother of Alexander by Oliver Stone. Ang Lee is going to be the director (although they had thought of David Fincher, Paul Greengrass and James Cameron).

Precisely Ang Lee (The Life of Pi) has just said the Hollywood Reporter: “I’m about to read the script. It just feels right to me after all the other types of films I’ve done, What does it have in common with any of them? They’re all totally different! That’s what makes this perfect.”

Then, Will Angelina Jolie be better or worse than Elizabeth Taylor? Both of them are handsome and have some amazing eyes. Who do you prefer?

Difficult choice!

I think both of them. I would have rather seen Halle Berry as Cleopatra. I loved seeing Liz Taylor portray Cleopatra in that movie when I saw it as a youngster (my younger cousin thought it was too long and never let me forget that I took him to see it.) And Angelina is awesome, so she will do a great job portraying Cleopatra.
