Jonathan Daniel ‘Jon Hamm’ was born in 1971 in St Louis Missouri.

Great sportsman, he attended several universities before the University of Missouri. There, he answered an advertisement from a theater company looking for actors and was cast in the production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He kept on playing little roles in different productions until 1995. This year, Hamm moved to Los Angeles permanently with an automobile and $150. There, he lived with other aspiring actors and worked as a waiter while attending auditions. No complaints, his grandfather had told him: ‘Acting was fun, but it’s never too late to be an engineer. You were supposed to get a ‘job’ and do acting on weekends or at school.’

Five years later, in 2000, Jon Hamm started to play some roles: NBC drama series Providence, in Clint Eastwood’s space adventure Space Cowboys, in the independent comedy Kissing Jessica Stein or in the war movie We Were Soldiers.

Jon Hamm Mad Men castmate Eric Ladin has said that he admired Hamm because never gave up on acting. And, yes, this was one of the reasons he looks up to Jon and his fortune changed forever.

Jon Hamm has gained wide recognition playing advertising executive Don Draper in the AMC drama series Mad Men (premiered in July 2007). In fact, he has earned a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series in 2008 and eight Emmy nominations, directing two episodes of Mad Men.

Now, his luck has changed and he is a reputed actor and one the sexiest men in the lists around the world. His first leading film role was in the 2010 independent thriller Stolen.

Congratulations Jon Hamm. You are an example of that famous saying: Beat the resisting.
