An electric guitar made by VOX in the 60’s was sold last week in New York for the spectacular amount of $408,000. A record!
Yes, John Lennon continues being an icon of our current culture, no doubt. Everything used or even touched by the English Pop singer is desired and people is willing to pay nonsense prices.
Now, an electric guitar played by Lennon in a video session for “Hello Goodbye,” has set a new record. George Harrison had practiced “I Am the Walrus” on the instrument too.
The guitar was a gift to their friend “Magic Alex” Mardas, an engineer at Apple Records, for his birthday in 1967.
Also we know that this guitar had being sold a few years ago by Christie’s Auction House for more than $100,000 and it had been displayed at a museum in Ireland in recent weeks.
At least, we hope it sound still well.
