Specific ingredients: 50 ml rye or Canadian whisky; 20 ml Sweet red vermouth; Dash Angostura bitters and Maraschino cherry (Garnish).

Preparation: Stirred over ice, strained into a chilled glass, garnished, and served straight up.

The cocktail is served in a glass cocktail and straight up, without ice.

**A legend suggests that the cocktail was originated at the Manhattan Club in New York City in 1870, for a posh banquet hosted by Jennie Jerome (Lady Randolph Churchill. Then, Winston Churchill’s mother).
