Power of Words by Antonio Litterio

If Life Is Written On A Page by R A Lovelace

If life is written on a page

talked about by some great sage

where is wonder yet undone

if turning page loses its fun?

Living life round every corner

with mysteries that seal our fate

should the page already written

give us the answers that we hate.

Where is the joy of great discovery?

When knowing all may come too late

is our living an old movie

Edited for glories sake?

Avoiding chaos seems the strongest

but our story yet to read

can give us the mystery searched for

and see to it the treasure freed.

What is it like to be in heaven?

That question has no answer known

for none of us have traveled to God

and returned to tell all those now born.

Does this question keep us going?

does it keep us from our home?

If there’s no limit to our knowledge

How does a question become the poem?

Everything we live and breathe for

has price to pay to see them done

whether it be loving greatly

or seeing children having fun.

Whatever prayer we ask the spirits

has answer known before it’s said

why do we ask those questions wondered

That slowly fills our hearts with dread?

Is it because we hope for freedom

from the fear’s now in our head

or do the questions asked and prayed for

have answers that will have us led.

Many are told by suited priests

that praying will help all of us cope

but they are men just like the rest

do they pray when there’s no hope?

Or do they see some secret answer

that is not privy to the rest

and if that’s so then why are we not

all the priest and thus so blessed?

Is it known deep in our souls

That all the questions asked by some

are close enough for us to borrow

all we’ve saved for when we’re done.

There are many questions

asked and dreamt of

and many more that stay unsaid

and of those questions we each have chosen

which of them stays In our head?

But answers are a different story

for our mind directs their cause

and it chooses what we care for

and carry on not giving pause.

And when the answers and the questions

meet at some point meant to solve

the great mystery has a window

often offered with great resolve.

Hopefully the fun continues

In real life adventure ends

and we must look upon a mirror

to see where it is we’ve been.

Once we know the road well-traveled

then we know which way to turn

at that point we meet our standard

and one more question’s answer known.

when all the questions have their answers

and our life has come to end

maybe then we take those answers

and show our souls are on the mend
