Ocean Front & Ocean Silhouette = Immensity

Ocean Front & Ocean Silhouette = Immensity

Ocean, so immense so strange. Today, we would like you could feel what it has inspired poets like Adreyo Sen and artists like Alison Breskin. Have a calm blue day, Yareah magazine friends.

Ocean Front & Ocean Silhouette = Immensity

Ocean Silhouette by Alison Breskin

Ocean Front by Adreyo Sen

People who live near the ocean

never see any end

to the generally calm, deep blue

that borders the sunniness

of their lives.

But having no end in sight

makes existence very strange.

It’s difficult to countennance

the regularity of one’s

own ways,

the tenor, so involuntarily even

of our lives.

It’s almost as if we’ve been sailing

at the end

of our lives.

  • Thank you for choosing my photo for your magazine, it was taken in Seaside Heights, New Jersey in the summer of 2012. I am a poet as well as an amateur photographer and was delighted to see my little photo beside a lovely poem, written by a fellow poet.
