Belfast Exposed. 30th Anniversary Workshops
Friday 15 March from 10.30am – 3.30pm. Saturday 4, Sunday 5, Tuesday 7 May 2013 (10am – 4pm ). Includes cameras, film, paper and chemicals.

Thirty years ago, Belfast Exposed was born out of a strong, local street documentary photography tradition, at a moment of intense media scrutiny and violent upheaval in the city. As part of our 30th birthday celebrations, we invite you to join founder member Sean McKernan for one of our famous Black and White Location and Darkroom Workshops, taking a photographic journey through the Falls & Shankill, invoking the organisation’s founding moment and re-shooting locations where the early community photographers took some of their most iconic images.
STAGE 1: Using your Digital Camera
Stage One: Using Your Digital Camera (3 Sessions). Tuesday 7, 14 & 21 May 2013 from 6pm – 9pm. Cost: £125/ £110 Previous Participant Discount

This practical, hands on BX Introductory Level course is designed for beginners and those wishing to refresh previous knowledge. You will get an introduction to your camera’s manual controls getting to know the potential of your camera as well as taking the hit and miss out of picture taking.
STAGE 2 – Develop & Review your Photography Practice
Thursday 11, 18, 25 April & 2 May from 6pm – 9pm. Or Saturday 11, 18, 25 May & 1 June 2013 from 11am – 2pm . Time: 6pm – 9pm . Cost: £150/£120 for previous training participants

This practical course is aimed at those wishing to further develop their knowledge and practice of photography. It introduces participants to practical knowledge of studio and street photography. Participants will also gain an insight into contemporary photography practice and the history of Belfast Exposed. A 20% discount is available for participants who have completed a BX Stage One course.
