Patchwork and families by Adreyo Sen

Patchwork and families by Adreyo Sen

Patchwork and beautiful crafts and broken memories. Our life, our history, our families is like a quilt of colored pieces. Today, enjoy this amazing poem by Adreyo Sen.

Families are brought together

by forces that threaten

to pull them

A death.

Worse, a secret.

A clandestine marriage.

A visitor, strange.

Ever more so often,

a visitor expected.

Visitors are like the bright,

thankfully never matching

on a patchwork quilt.

They remind the quilt it’s beautiful,

they re-affirm its quiltiveness.

They are the chips

in the even tenor

of a chocolate chip
