George Handel. Messiah. London Symphony Orchesta Conducted by Sir Colin Davis. 1966
Woof, woof for everyone! Today is Saturday and I have to work but I am happy for that. How can a dog write posts talking about classical music? I cannot answer this question but… I can give you a little present every day. Today, we will enjoy a magical piece of the Baroque period, Handel’s Messiah. This is, with Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, maybe one of the most representative and remembered compositions in this period. I’ve always admired Handel. He is a genius!
This version is conducted Sir Colin Davis. Heather Harper (soprano), Helen Watts (contralto), John Wakefield (tenor), John Shirley-Quirk (bass), Ralph Downes (organ), Leslie Pearson (harpsichord) and William Lang (trumpet)
Recorded in 1966. London Symphony Orchestra
Have a great Handel’s Birthday Anniversary. Woof, woof and… Peace, love and food for everyone!
