Dubai events. Gulf Photo Plus is presenting ‘Work, an exhibition of photographs by David Alan Harvey.’
Full of life and color, full of passion in its simplicity, in its ordinary perfection. Such is the work of the artist David Alan Harvey, a master portraying people of every age and condition, of every country and background, of every personality. Always people with a soul that emerges from their masks.
From February 28 to April 13, 2013, David Alan Harvey photographic work is exhibited in Dubai, UAE, at Gulf Photo Plus.
The exhibition presents selected pictures from his recent award winning limited edition book (based on a true story) and they depict the vibrancy and cultural energy of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).
Today, Yareah magazine readers can appreciate two of his works.
Dasha is a splendorous sensual woman. So sensual and exotic as to hide herself into the Mother Nature… Brazil, the Paradise… Brazilian women walking through that Paradise… Shadows and lights of a world which is moving towards us to the beat of music: salsa. Thus, an ordinary scene in Rio de Janeiro but thanks to David Alan Harvey camera, this scene is enigmatic, special, as the woman of the hidden face, the woman who is our reflection, because only a mirror is among us.
David Alan Harvey loves people and his works are the result of his sympathy. He saw himself in the images of the others. He saw a universal truth: shared feelings and acts.
Candi is the innocence. A girl playing on a beach. Once again, she hides her eyes. This time with a pair of black sunglasses while the strong Sun of Rio is dying white her skin.
Rio de Janeiro, David Alan Harvey, portraits of a busy world… A fantastic combination. If you have the chance, don’t miss this show!
