Symbols of Hope and Despair by the artist Suzzan Blac. Four paintings, masterpieces to reflect our lives: Play Time, Blue Hair, Mind F_ckers and Madonna and Child.
There is a time to laugh and a time to cry, a time to love and a time to die. Our life is a complete circle of one thousand and one mirrors that artists have been reinterpreting century after century.
Suzzan Blac artwork is different, her circle is drawn backwards and the mourning begins in childhood, with dark toys, with black tears. Every life is different and some children must play with sorrows. Her painting ‘Play Time’ is the painting of a terrified girl, closed in a room of monsters and waiting for her death.
Suzzan Blac artwork is not a happy art. It’s a reflection of cruelty and evil, it’s a nightmare that we mustn’t hide anymore, because her technical perfect ‘Blue Hair’ adult woman has not forgotten her distant fears and now, she can help other children, little by little, stroke by stroke, with smiles of colorful oleo spots of an altered density.
‘Mind F_ckers’ is wonderful and terrible at the same time. Wonderful, if we focus on its lights and glitters, on its fantastic nuances and Surrealist meanings. Terrible, if we analyze the topic, the cowardice of a protagonist capable of harming a defenseless…, with his/her repellent tongue and steel nails.
There is a time to laugh and a time to cry, a time to suffer and a time to overcome the past. There is a time to close the circle and to start a new life, a time to sit and paint ‘Madonna and Child’. Suzzan Blac sat a day, thought about her cruel memories, began to reflect them in the mirror of an artwork and got a masterpiece. A masterpiece which is an icon now, a testimony of a horror, a triumph of art over people… of repellent tongue and steel nails.
Congratulations Suzzan for your fantastic work and congratulations for creating symbols of hope from despair.
