Facebook. The initiative Let’s get naked in the snow aims to raise funds to donate to a charity hospital in Salisbury.
Leanne Myers (an ordinary mother from Wilshire, UK) did not expect that something so simple could obtain such a success. What started as a joke, a nude photo in the snow with her family, is becoming a trend on internet.
Leanne Myers Page on Facebook has now more than 13,000 likes and is the great success on internet. The idea is really simple: users are invited to display their images naked in the snow.
‘The idea started on 29 April 2000, when our daughter Ellie, a premature baby, was in the intensive care unit and they diagnosed a heart problem. At 2 years old Ellie needed surgery of the heart and with the support we received from the John Radcliffe hospital, we could afford it.’ Leanne has just told. Then, when the family was in the darkest hours, they had an idea to forget the problems: photographed naked in the snow. This initiative became a popular Facebook page, and now, the initiative has its own website and a solidarity calendar.
‘We are raising money for other families who need help, as we need it at the time.’ The original initiative has already obtained 3,700 euros. All proceeds will go to charity Salisbury Hospital.
Good luck, Leanne, the world needs people like you!
