Naomi Watts will be in Los Angeles on February 24th to compete for the Best Actress award thanks to her role in the Spanish movie ‘The Impossible’ by Juan Antonio Bayona.

It has been a late nomination and it is great news. Naomi Watts deserved it. Meanwhile, Javier Bardem is out nomination for his role in “Untouchable”.

Naomi Watts was born on 28 September 1968. She is a British-Australia actress and she started her career in that country, on TV. There, she appeared in series such as Hey Dad..!, E Street and Home and Away.

In 1986, Naomi Watts starring her first movie: For Love Alone. Afterwards, she worked on B-movies, such as the horror film Children of the Corn IV: The Gathering (1996),

In 2001, Naomi Watts gained critical acclaim thanks to her work in David Lynch psychological thriller Mulholland Drive, starring alongside Justin Theroux and Laura Harring. Great role and movie!

In 2004, she received nominations for the Academy Award for Best Actress as well as for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for her role (alongside Sean Penn) as Cristina Peck in Alejandro González Iñarritu movie 21 Grams.

Other film roles include the 2005 remake of King Kong, the 2006 remake of The Painted Veil, the 2007 thriller Eastern Promises, and the 2009 thriller The International. In 2010, Watts portrayed Valerie Plame Wilson, opposite Sean Penn as Joe Wilson, in Fair Game. Since then, she also appeared in the 2012 drama film The Impossible.

Definitely, a fantastic career which, perhaps, will be enhanced (if this is possible) on September, 28 in Los Angeles. We hope the Oscars 2013 give Naomi luck and force to keep on her great career.
