Dolphins in risk in Florida. We must help them!
The Ocean River Institute has warmed that dolphins are in risk in Florida due to Nitrogen Pollution.
‘Our mission is to save the dolphins of Indian River Lagoon from nutrient pollution. Protect them!’
Currently, they are asking for an ordinance that modifies lawn care practices to reduce nitrogen pollution of waterways and coastal waters. Furthermore, they ask for a summer lawn-fertilizing holiday that is no more than what is already the practice of golf courses and agricultural businesses. According with them, by taking 3 steps we can have green lawns and cleaner waters:
Do not spread fertilizer closer to waterways than the County’s setback of 25 feet.
Use at least 50% slow release nitrogen, 100% is better for lawns and waters.
Grant us a Lawn-fertilizing Holiday from June 1 to Sept 30.
Of course, Yareah magazine supports this cause.
Dolphins cannot be in risk, they are marvelous, intelligent, noble animals!
