MoMA exhibits: This month, January 2013, at MoMA, NY
MoMA is always interesting, not only it offers exhibition but performances, movies, music, shopping, dinners… You can spend a complete fantastic day at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Today, the first day of the year, you can see its upcoming exhibitions and plan your month. Remember Yareah magazine motto: ‘Art is Everywhere’. Happy New Year, Yareah magazine readers, collaborators and followers! Enjoy the day!
Kick off 2013 by seeing Christian Marclay’s 24-hour cinematic tour de force The Clock, which incorporates scenes of everything from car chases and board rooms to emergency wards, bank heists, trysts, and high-noon shootouts. The Clock is open 24 hours on weekends throughout the run, so you can watch this hypnotic piece in its entirety. Be sure to catch Inventing Abstraction, 1910–1925, a centennial celebration of a bold new art form featuring work by masters such as Pablo Picasso, Vasily Kandinsky, and Georgia O’Keeffe; the most recent Projects installation featuring video and performance artist Meiro Koizumi; andWolfgang Laib’s luminous Pollen from Hazelnut, which uses pollen as pigment, in the Marron Atrium.
In our theaters you’ll find Andy Warhol’s rarely seen San Diego Surf, featuring Factory stars Viva, Taylor Mead, and Joe Dallesandro, and The Contenders 2012, presenting our curators’ picks of the year’s best films. And on January 20 from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m., please join us at the MoMA PS1 Winter Open House to celebrate the opening of several new exhibitions featuring artists Cyprien Gaillard, Ed Atkins, and Metahaven.
