December 28 1984. Sam Peckinpah Death Anniversary
Sam Peckinpah was born on the 21th of February of 1925. He was an American film director and screenwriter, well-known as the director of The Wild Bunch (1969) and other Westerns. Peckinpah’s films deal with the corruption, the violence, wars and the paradox between the innocence and violence. He was explicit, sometimes brutal… he was tough and he was the man who tries to understand the dichotomy between the logic and the beast inside us.
Yes, his personality was marked by alcohol and drug abuse but, as an artist, he was sincere, brutal and affectionate… To like or not to like, that’s the question, my friends… but, overall, Sam Peckinpah was a true artist who lived his live truly.
We miss you, Sam!
