Best of 2012. What have we learnt this year? Today, it’s a good moment to meditate.

It hasn’t been a good year but, maybe, among so many disasters and economic problems, we have learnt a few things. From Prehistoric times, mankind has always been learning and we are here, in the year of the cloud, dreaming science fiction and then, maybe, wanting to improve our lives and consciences again.

I’ve just read that Bhutan has a special minister for Happiness. Interesting thing. Western countries should learn of this tiny Oriental place, where happiness is so important as to have a ministry.

Happiness has nothing to do with money. I’m sure that in spite of the ‘famous’ current economic crisis, everybody has had several moments of happiness this year. Then, we have learnt this, happiness has to do with the family, friends, positive efforts, exciting projects… Chasing money in our lives is a kind of waste, it’s not the best of 2012!

And yes, this is the first lesson that 2012 has given us. We can be happy! And we can start the New Year with a smile and a positive thinking, because we can also be solidary and to overcome every kind of problems (natural or social) together.

In Yareah magazine we have also learnt that art is everywhere and that artists and authors throughout the world has a lot to say about beauty, feelings and initiatory paths to know us better and to be complete people and not only a materialistic personality. This is also the Best of 2012.

Furthermore, we have learnt that globalization is not so bad and the feedback among cultures brings positive result in culture and new ideas: medicine keeps on developing, also communications and respect for our Nature. We still need better laws to protect animals, we still need to stop the destruction of natural paradises but we still can and we will try doing next year.

Definitely, 2012 hasn’t been a good year but if we learn what not to do, 2013 will be a good one and we are near, very near of this better future.

Happy Christmas!
