King Lear, the tragedy by William Shakespeare, was first played
December 26, 1606. The famous tragedy by William Shakespeare King Lear was performed. Shakespeare’s King Lear is based on the legendary Leir of Britain, a mythological pre-Roman Celtic king. Madness, daughters, flattery and envies… King Lear is one of the best Shakespeare’s plays and it was written between 1603 and 1606.
The True Chronicle of the History of the Life and Death of King Lear and His Three Daughters was first published in 1608 and The Tragedy of King Lear, a more theatrical version, was included in 1623 First Folio.
Today, on December 26, we would like to tribute this magnificent play, written by one of the best authors in the History of Literature. This King Lear version was played on Broadway, New York, in 1974 and King Lear was played by James Earl Jones. A great way to start the day!
Have a great Wednesday, dear Yareah friends.
